Travel with us on this magical adventure as we witness the creation of a carpet from start to finish. Delving deep into the countryside of India, let yourself experience the ever-unfolding mystery of carpet artistry.

The film on Obeetee, Rugs for Life, has been made by Naresh and Rajesh Bedi, award-winning filmmakers and photographers who have travelled to the remotest corners of India to produce pictorial books and films on its cultural and natural heritage. Sir Mark Tully, the narrator of the film, is the former Chief of Bureau BBC, New Delhi. An astute commentator on Indian culture and politics, he has authored many books including India in Slow Motion and No Full Stops in India.

The LHASA collection brings alive the ancient Tibetan weaves and fine materials to the present sensibilities of interior designing. Each piece is a modern interpretation of universally appreciated Tibetan motifs and its distinct textures. The selection is a visual treat as it seamlessly blends a contemporary look with traditional and saturated colours. Crafted from handspun premium wool, the patterns are embossed that helps them stand out.

Mother nature offers such beauty in the shapes, colours and textures of gemstones and minerals. The Crystal Collection of carpets translates these organic gifts into intricate artwork. Inspired by the geological surprises of the environment, our master craftsmen weave each piece just like an artist paints a canvas. The Crystal Collection is created with a hand knotting technique, using the finest tricolored hand spun wool. The colours of the minerals come alive through a special washing process that gives these rugs an interesting texture with a worn-in, contour effect. The finished product is classic in its styling, with a touch of modern elegance.

The KARABAGH collection is nothing short of yarn rhapsody. These antique rugs feature exotic oriental patterns influenced by the traditional khotan and oushak motifs, collectively known as Samarkhands. The bespoke compilation comes finished in a long and relatively narrow format with simplistic spacious designs rendered in glossy wool. Often embellished with lustrous brocaded silk and metal thread, these come alive in rich hues like lacquer reds and earthy yellows. Every piece is a perfect harmony of color, weave and heritage.
